Clear & frosty. Bro. Charles
came & took lunch with us.
I rode down to Ashton with
him and walked back.
Carrie Hopkins was at the office
for advice & medicine. We
heard today the sad news of
the sudden death of Martha
Tyson Marshall. Willie called
about sunset & went back to
"Fairfield" before supper.

Wind S.W. & N.W. Cloudy & Clearing 35o
FRI. JAN. 3rd, 1896.

Quite mild early this morning,
the ground not being frozen
about 10 o'clk the wind changed
to N.W. & it has been growing
colder ever since with strong
wind blowing. "Jim" Hill was
here for advice & medicine for
"Uncle Henson." Willie called,
having been to deliver a
carpet. I went up to the store
for groceries ect. Phil Robison
expects to go to Laurel for
Edward tomorrow.
