Ther. 70 Clear Wind N.W. & S.E.
Tues. Sept. 24th, 1895

Cooler this morning a nice breeze
blowing from N.W. until toward
evening when it cleared to S.E. &
feels like rain. I drove to Ashton
to see Mrs Baker's boy again
then to "Marden" to see Margt
T. Moore again. After supper I
went to a called meeting of the
Ashton & Sandy Spring Democratic
Club held in the Shop of
A F Fairall Esq. It "sprinkled"
rain for a short time after dark.

Ther. 71 Cloudy Wind
Wednesday 25

I was about home all day
except going up to the store &
P.O. After supper "Frank"
Hopkins (colored) was here for
advice & medicine. About 8.30
p.m. there came up the heaviest
electric thunderstorm we have
had (just in our locality) with perhaps
once exception this year, it had been
looking more like a settled rain all
day.

Ther. 60o Clear Wind S.E. N.W.
Thurs. Sept. 20th, 1895

Not as cool as we hoped it would be
after the storm of last night. Bro Chas.
called (on horseback) & I rode with
him to Ashton & had my horse shod
"in front" with shoes removed. Afternoon
it looked like our having another
gust. I got $1.00 worth of horse feed at the
mill on the order from "Alf" Bell this
morning. Edwd & "Phil" rode to Olney
for butter just before dark.

Ther. 68o Clear Wind N.W.
Friday 27th

Cleared off much cooler during
the day. I rode to Ashton on horseback
after dinner. Edwd rode up to
"Fairfield" on his bicycle towards
evening, before supper. I walked up
to the store & P.O. after dusk. Lizzie
Scott was here to see Dora.
The wind seems to have settled in
the N.W. and I hope will bring us
some autumn like weather as they
have had a "snow blizzard" as the
far N.W. in "Wyoming."
