Clearing off with high wind
I drove to Ashton in the "Surry"

Mr Evans, who is much worse
than yesterday, from imprudence
in diet. Rode on horseback to
see Emory Snowden's wife.

was away. Went again to see
Evans whom I fear cannot Rrecover
from this attack.

Was called up about mid night
last. (Robt Blair coming for me)
and walked to Emma Kings to
prescribe for Mr Evans, his nurses
thought him dying, & indeed he
was "very low", but revived some
what, after I arrived, but I fear
is not far from his end of life.
Rode down again before dinner
& again towards evening.
Susan Davis was here for advice
& medicine for "Edwin". Dora
was all day at the Insurance
