16 Clear N.W. February, Sunday 13th. 1887.

Clear & cold. Willie took "Kit" and the carriage and drove his mother, Dora & Bessie over to Howard Co. to Edw Janney Jackson's To spend the day, leaving Edward & I to "Keep house." BroRichard called on his way to meeting. Bro Chas.: also called & spent one hour with us. Wm Wright was here for advice &c. Helen B Lea called on her way from meeting. Afternoon "Phil" Robison came in to play with Edward. Wesley Johnson came for advice & med. The "folks" came home about 5.30 p.m. "all right" but cold. "Jim" Powell left with Ernest's horses & wagon about dusk. Wrote to T. Tyson & to Charley.

10o Clear & Cloudy S.E February, Monday 14th. 1887.

Still cold and raw. Wesley Johnson came to breakfast Willie & he hauled home two loads of hay from the old Edwd Thomas place one load before dinner & one afternoon using our horses & Ed: Gilpins wagon & "hay flats." they took part of the first load over to Mrs Robison's stable in return for hay we borrowed from her some time since. Jas Grady called in the morning afternoon I went up to his house & dressed the wounded hand of his little boy "Sammy" Albert Chandler & Louis Pigeon were here. The former really seems to be improving steadily. I feeling "stiff" and "sore" from Rheumatism We filled the mow as full as it would hold with the best hay we have in it for a long time. I took Edwd: & all the boys from next door up to the mow & we tramped & packed it well.

29o Snow & Rain S.E. February, Tuesday 15. 1887.

It commenced snowing before dark last evening & continued intermixed with Rain all night & this morning making This a disagreeable day. I am very glad we got our hay handled just when we did. Wesley Johnson called This morning. Afternoon I drove to Ashton for flour &c. Willie went with me. Levi Hopkins sent us four chickens, nearly full grown. After supper Willie rode over to "Scotts" on horseback with E Gilpin. Jno (Shipley) Johnson came & Bought the wheel barrow home he & Edwd: went with me to the stable to clean "Fritz" off.

37o Cloudy S.E February, Wednesday 16th. 1887.

Willie took "Kit" to T Marlow's shop & had new shoes put on "all around." Helen B Lea and little Anna came to spend the day with us. Afternoon Willie drove "Kit" over to Jimmy Jackson;s to take Charley's clean clothes. Bro Chas: & wife called to speak to Helen who left about 2. o'clock to go to Wm Lea's to spend the night. Geo: Sprigg's daughter was here and has a tooth extracted.

32 . Clear & Cloudy W February, Thursday 17th 1887.

Elijah Leizear was here and settled his account & also W H Bukoffoky's Estate as Administrator. Jas Grady was here to see me about his little boy. Willie went to the Sherwood School house to the "Debating Society" Rachael Thomas also called and paid me $3.00 "on account."

50 Rain Rain N.E February, Friday 18th. 1887.

Commenced Raining about 6.o'clk a.m. & continued making a "rainy day." I burned the East chimney which needed it badly and as we are sure to have high windy weather in March I was afraid it would take fire in a dry time and make more fire than we wanted & we can never have a better day for burning it than this. Garterell the butcher was here I got a piece of "corned beef." Jas Grady was here for med for his boy. Wesley Johnson came for advice & medicine.We had quite a thunder gust at about 5.o'clk p.m.

33o Cloudy N.W. February, Saturday 19th. 1997.

Cleared off during last night. I went up to the store driving "Kit" after Willie came back from taking Miss Fannie Davi's over to Palmer's place. W & I walked over to the grave yard to the funeral of Wm H. Farquhar who died on Thursday. Bro Chas called at the gate and left us some butter. Afternoon I walked over to Mary L Robert's & paid her $24.00 being all due up to August 1st 1886 except $3.00. Old Rebecca or "Becky" Hacket a colored woman said to be 100 years old & lived at "Uncle Henson Hills, was buried this afternoon. Some Philips boy from Va put his horse in our stable for the night. I have a "wretched head ache" this evening After tea R Roland Moore called & got a "viometer" belonging to Mrs M.G Tyson

47o Cloudy Rain & Snow N.E. February, Sunday 20th. 1887.

Early in the morning it was foggy and cloudy, and about "meeting time" it began to snow. and continued to either snow or rain all the rest of the day We had a nice quiet day to ourselves. Ernest Budd was here to have a tooth extracted but not being "prepared," he must call again. Mrs Robison was here for an hour or so. Also "Bessie" & Phil: Willie & I had quite a time replacing the "well box" &c. which the "Kit" mare pulled clear off the well curb & out into the yard. W having hitched her to it for a moment

33o Cloudy Variable February Monday 21st. 1887.

The fields are white with snow and the roads are in as bad a condition as they ever are except on the turnpikes. Willie went with E Gilpin to Spenserville after dinner & then took the buggy & went to Brighton & brought Alice Peirce home with him in time for supper after which he took Dora & Alice in the carriage to Saml Thoma's to a "Sociable" driving "Kit" Recd a letter from Charley. The children came home from the "Sociable" about 10. o'clk.

37o Cloudy .E. February, Tuesday 22d. 1887.

Mrs: Elijah Leizear was here for examination & treatment. Afternoon I walked up to the mill. Edwd with me renewed medicine in inhaler for Mrs Henderson. Willie took Alice Peirce home in the buggy drawing "Fritz." I walked down to Ashton to prescribe for "Kate Stabler & Rode home with Willie. Elvira Hill was here for advice & medicine & paid me $2.00 After supper Willie went o "Olney" to the "Good Templer's Lodge" in the buggy driving "Kate."
