50o Rain + Snow W January Monday 24th 1887.

Extremely disagreeable morning. Snow, rain & high wind.Elijah Leizear was here for his bill & also for my account against W.H. Bekoffsky's Estate.

28o Clear S.E. January, Tuesday 25th 1887.

I am suffering from considerable pain in my back this morning. After breakfast I rode on horse back over to R Roland Moores and prescribed for his wife. Afternoon I drove over to see "Uncle" Henson & prescribed for him Phineas Carol's wife here for advice & med: Wm S Bond was also here for medicine for his wife (Rheumatic trouble]).

30o Cloudy S.W. January, Wednesday 26th. 1887.

Sun rose clear. and soon after went under the clouds and rained several times during the forenoon. Willie drove over to Jenning Jackson's to take some more things for Charles and the guitar. I am feeling very stiff & sore from riding on horseback more than usual of late. I must take to riding more, as it is so good for me & I am fond of it.

16o Clear S.W. January, Thursday 27th. 1887.

The temperature fell from 55 degrees at 6 p.m. last evening to 16o at 5. o'clk this morning. a fall of 39 degrees in eleven hours. I feel very miserable from "rheumatic neuralgia" and remained "inn doors" all day. Edward was quite "croupy" after midnight and continued so until towards noon.

45o Cloudy N.E. January, Friday 28th 1887.

Jenny Proctor here for advice & medicine. Afternoon Willie went to several places for me trying to "collect," but without success. R Roland Moore called to see me about dusk. Hallie Lea & Ellie Chandlee called at the gate & front door. Edwd is quite "croupy" again this evening. & little Bessie is "feverish" & restless.

50 Rain S.E. January, Saturday 29th 1887.

Regular rainy day. Remus Hill Jr. here for advice & for his father. "Nelly" came in the stage at noon. Ernest came afternoon, driving over from Riverside where he had left "Minnie" I walked up to the store towards sun down for some groceries &c.

50o Cloudy S W January, Sunday 30th 1887.

Dull and "foggy" in the morning. Afternoon Willie started to take Dora & Nelly to Edwd Peirce's in the carriage but found the roads so bad they returned after going as far as just beyond B.N. Miller's. Chas Palmer (the school teacher) called. Susan Hopkins. (Emeline Hopkin's daughter) was here for advice & med: Remus Hill Jr: also here to see me about his father.

31o Clear N.W. January, Monday 31st 1887.

This is the first bright day we have had for sometime. Albert Chandlee & his nephew (Louis Pigeon) were here in the afternoon to see me. I think Albert seems slightly improved since I saw him last. Willie went to Riverside in the spring wagon & brought home some bundles of rye straw with which to patch the ice house roof .

32o Cloudy SE February, Tuesday 1st 1887.

Dull morning. "Nelly" left in the stage for Laurel & Balto. Afternoon I Rode the mare over to prescribe for "Uncle Henson again & also his wife. Mrs Robison came in to see me about her cow which she learned was sick, but I thought would come out "all right."

31o Cloudy & Rain N.E. February, Wednesday 2.d 1887.

Commenced sleeting, snowing, and Raining last night and continued at intervals throughout today. Willie is suffering with an attack of diarrhea and indigestion & unable to attend school. I drove over to Riderside ("Fritz" to the buggy) and dined there Willie with me. After Returning I drove up to the insurance office & paid my annual tax $4.52. Whilst at Riverside I prescribed for Bro: Charles, who has been suffering greatly from neuralgia following a "severe cold." I brought home with me the] "microscope" from Riverside which belongs to Bro Richard.
