24o Clear N.W, NOVEMBER, TUESDAY 22d 1887.

I felt very rheumatic this morning. Afternoon Susan Davis & her daughter "Emma Jane" were here for advice etc. for the latter. I drove to Ashton & sent medicine (Fl Ext Cuscara Sugrada) to Jno Cook via "Ednor" Dora & Willie went to Elton with "Fritz" & the buggy, to return tomorrow morning Willie recd: his pay for husking corn from J.C. Bentley, & purchased some shoes, dry goods etc. for himself at Ashton.

37 Cloudy. S.E. NOVEMBER, WEDNESDAY 23d 1887. Rather a dull morning but partly cleared off towards noon, and clouded up again in the afternoon. Sarah Stabler called on way to meeting to see Dora, who was not at home. She & Willie came home about 3.o'clk afternoon. The boys from next door helped Edward & I pile the wood in the wood house. Willie went back to Elton riding the mare, expecting to say and help Ernest for some time, husking corn etc.

40 Cloudy & Foggy. S.E. NOVEMBER, THURSDAY 24th 1887.

"Thanks giving day", which we passed very quietly at home. Danl Budd's son "Walter" was here for advice & medicine for "sore throat". Afternoon [...]Sullivan from about Colesville was here & had tooth extracted. Recd a letter from Charley. Walked up to the store at Sandy Spring: they are moving into the new part of the store, in much confusion, the carpenters being still at work putting up counters & shelving After dark I walked down to Richard Proctor's & bought 2 pounds of butter from Rachael & paid her 10cts due on the last butter Willie got for us.

40 Cloudy & Foggy S.E. NOVEMBER, FRIDAY 25th 1887.

I took Harriet & Edwd: in the carriage & left H. at "Homewood" and drove over to Riverside with Edwd to get some walnuts for his squirrel. called for H at Thos: Lea's as I returned before dinner. Afternoon Dan Budd called & paid me $1.00 for "Walter". Andrew Johnson called for advice & medicine. Edwd & I went to the store for Coal Oil & Lard. After tea Edward went in next door and spent the evening.

46 Cloudy & Clearing Variable NOVEMBER, SATURDAY 26th 1887.

We all worked in the garden covering the cabbage (that had been "set up" for winter) with leaves, brush etc. and also the celery, in very much the same way. After noon Eliza Green was here for advice & medicine. After supper I walked up to the store for groceries etc. Edwd going with me. after which he spent the evening "next door" again.

50 Clear. S.W. NOVEMBER, SUNDAY 27th 1887.

Willie came home before breakfast, Dora went down to the "little meeting" to hear Caroline Talbot. I paid Willie for the material for a pair of pantaloons his mother had made up for him and he thought they were too large for him. Bro R called on way to meeting & left my gloves, that I left at Thos Lea's on Friday. After noon Dora & Willie went to Church "Brighton". Willie went on to Elton (having led the mare behind the buggy that far & Dora brought Alice Pierce home with her before supper. Jacob Luck was here again for advice & medicine "After supper Edwd and I walked up to the store and mailed letters to Charley from myself & one to Ellie Wood from H.

40 Rain. SE NOVEMBER, MONDAY 28th 1887.

Commenced raining after mid night last and continued until about noon today. Afternoon it cleared off from N.W. and grew much colder I went up to the mill and got a sack of flour. Dora & Alice Perce expected Willie to come & take them to a "Sociable" at Mrs S Farquhar's but he did not come. Jno W Johnson was here after dark for medicine etc. for threatened dysentary.

20o Clear. N.W. NOVEMBER, TUESDAY 29th 1887.

The first real cold morning, and the change being so sudden we feel it more, but 12o below freezing & a N.W. wind blowing is cold weather. I drove to Ashton befored dinner & Afternoon I rode Fritz to Jno Cook's below the toll gate and called at Hettie Stabler's as I came back. Josiah Hill & Geo: Budd were here when I returned, the former for advice etc. Dora walked with Alice Peirce to "Homewood" before dinner & home to tea. Edwd commenced going to school to Mrs Robison, who teaches her own children every evening after supper. Martha Pumphrey (from Alloway) was here for advice & medicine in the evening.

25o Clear. N.W. NOVEMBER, WEDNESDAY 30th 1887.

Beautiful winter day clear & frosty. I drove up to "Avalon" in the "spring wagon" & brought home Miss Mary Gilpins light buggy pale, after which I went to Hettie Stabler's in the buggy & got some lard, sausage, scrapple, and "spare rib". I went up to the mill (with Edwd) & paid Henderson for flour I got on Monday evening & also got coarse meal for "dog feed". Afternoon I drove to Ashton & had irons on buggy pole altered (drilling a new hole in each) After supper I wrote to Charley enclosing $2.00 "Postal Note" & walked up to the store & mailed the letter. Was sent for at 8-30 & drove to Jno Abell's & prescribed for his son Joseph.

12o Clear N.W. DECEMBER, THURSDAY 1st 1887.

Richard Retzer came here about 1.o'clock this a.m. having walked from somewhere. I drove to Ashton called to see Joseph Abell again. After dinner I went up & prescribed for old Mrs Oldfield in the village. Wm S Bond was here for advice & medicine for his son Joseph. Annie Rounds Budd brought her husband here & had a tooth extracted for him.
