SEPTEMBER, SATURDAY 17th 1887.

Quite cool this morning
I drove to Ashton & to Robt
Blair's driving the "Tom" horse
whilst Charley tried to plow
with our own horses, but
they did not work very well
& he gave it out & took W
over to "Muncasters" to bring
the bicycle home that had
been there since the "Fair"
I went in twice to see Bessie
Robinson & rode down
to Ashton after dark to
get medicine & capsules
for her. We expected my
friend F Tyson in the stage
to day and continued looking
for him until bed time. I
was much disappointed at
his not coming as he wrote
positively that he would
do so.

SEPTEMBER, SUNDAY 18th 1887.

I went over to see "Bessie"
Robison after breakfast, & again
about dark after supper:
Willie went to Mechanicsville
church with Ed: Gilpin. Charley
drove the mare to Elton in the
road cart expecting to be gone
all night & go to "Damascus"
tomorrow. Afternoon Willie
rode the bicycle to W. Bowie's
& home to supper. Alice Tyson
was here for advice & medicine
for herself. Bessie Robison
seems to be improving now,
but has had quite a serious
attack of "diptheria", but
(having taken every precaution)
I hope no other cases will
arise from it.
