SEPTEMBER, MONDAY 5^th 1887.

Uriah Kirk staid at "Avalon"
last night & came down here
soon after breakfast. Charley
took the brown mare to Sam
Budd's shop & had her shod
"in front." Uriah Kirk took
Fritz & the buggy & drove over
and brought sister Beulah
here to dine & spend the day.
I drove to Geo M Bells &
prescribed for the two oldest
children. Afternooon C drove
the mare to Youngham's to the
buggy. I took sister Beulah
home after early tea in the
carriage. & gave it a washing
after I returned. Edwd: seems
rather brighter to day. Annie
Rounds Budd washed for H.
Towards Evening I drove to
Ashton for "bill heads" &
medicine. Charley drove the
mare to Mrs Ellicott's & thence
to Chichester's and reversing
the trip to take back Miss Cowman
home about

I was called up last
night or rather this morning
at 2.15 a.m. & drove
out to Elijah Leizear's &
home before day light. C
came home at 2-30 am
and both he & I slept most
of the forenoon to day. Willie
went to Gaithersburg to a "Good
Templar's" convention on the
bicycle. I drove over again
to Elijah Leizear's about noon
& walked across to S M Bell's
Afternooon C drove away to sell
fertilizer's etc. Uriah & Harriet
Kirk went to Riverside etc. in Rachael
Gilpins vehicle. Nelly came
& took tea here. Uriah and
Harriet Kirk came back after
tea.
