January, Monday 10th 1887.

"Arch" Bishop came to
work again, he & Willie continued
hauling ice, and
brought home four loads before
dinner and four in the
afternoon. Which together
with what was hauled on
saturday filled the house
as full as we could get
it. It would have held
several loads more if we
could have broken it all
up quite fine as it was
put in, but as the ice is
unusually good being at
least 9 inches thick and
perfectly clear. I hope it
will keep as well as usual
and last as long as we used
A. next autumn.

January Tuesday 11th 1887.

Willie went to school again
I took down the "slide spout"
from the ice house doors, and
patched the roof with boards
temporarily until I can get
the right straw to make a
good "job" of it After school
Willie went in the sleigh
to "Eldon" & brought Dora
home. The sleighing is very
fine and many persons are
enjoying it. Davi's
