33o Snow S.E. Ther. Sat. MARCH 7th, 1885 Wea.

Snow fell to about 2 inches in depth early in the morning. Continued dull and cloudy & threatening all day I burned out the East chimney before dinner. William Wright called and paid his bill. John took the spring wagon after Charley at noon & brought some lime and a barrel to slake it in to make "lime water" for the black horse "Jumbo". After dinner I drove to Ashton and had "cap" made & urn fixed for dining room "Franklin stove". Frank Leizear here for advice & medicine for his wife.

29o Clear N.W. Ther. Sun. March 8th, 1885 Wea.

Mr S Bond called to report his son Chas: as being better. I rode the roan mare over to Josiah Bowen's before dinner. Afternoon Richard and Hallie Lea called & spent an hour or two with us. Towards evening Charley rode over to "Riverton" to call upon some ladies from Alexandria, Va After tea Frank Snowden called.

15. Clear & Cloudy. N.W. Ther. Mon. March 9, 1885 Wea.

Cold cold again with wind from N.W. Willie & Edwd: both went to school. After dinner Mrs Arthur Stabler called for advice & medicine. Family all at home in the evening, and we had some music and a game of whist, the weather being too bleak & C's cold too bad for the young folks to go to Scotts, as they had expected to have done.

40. Cloudy & Windy N.W. Ther. Tues.March 10th, 1885 Wea.

I drove "Fritz" to the "Spider Wagon" to Sandy Spring and paid toll bill & to Ashton before dinner. Sent John on "Fox" to Josiah Bowens with medicine Bought some fresh fish "Yellow perch" After supper young "Haslup" came & played whist with our "young folks" until bed time.

20. Clear & Cloudy Ther. Wed. March 11, 1885 Wea.

Afternoon I walked up to toll gate & proved my account against the estate of Elias Leizear Miss Elizabeth Fowlers call. I went in there and made a call. The weather is much colder today.

40 Rain N.E. Ther. Thurs. March 12, 1885 Wea.

Willie drove to school in his buggy. Beef man from Sligo came around. Little Fanny "bit" Edwd's right arm like a "mad dog"; for which her mother "settled with her after the most approved old style proceedings. I do not feel at all well. Suffering with Rheumatic pains in my arms & chest.

31o Cloudy & Rain NE Ther. FRI. MARCH 13, 1885 Wea.

Disagreable day. Lizzie Iddings came and spent the day with us. Afternoon I went to the village & prescribed for Belles' infant. It commenced snowing towards night. Willie did not go to school, not being at all well. I "fixed up" the clock that Harry Lea left here in our room.

25o Clear NW Ther. SAT. MARCH 14,1885 Wea.

Beautiful day "overhead" but disagreable & muddy "under foot." Lizzie Franklin here for advice & medicine for herself & sister in law also a woman to see me for Mary Matthews I sent Willie & John with a load of manure in the "spring wagon" over to the Cemetery to spread on our lot. they also sowed a gallon of timothy & clover seed on it before the manure was put on. Dora and Nelly walked over to "Hasewood" & back before supper. I rode "Fritz" back to the store after supper. Ernests' horse broke the front wheel off his buggy & he drove away in the scolky about 10.30 p.m.

31 Cloudy SE Ther. SUN. MARCH 15, 1885 Wea.

Charley went away with Frank Snowden on horseback. home to dinner. Ernest also came to dinner. Malcome Banks here for advice & med for his infant. After dinner Mary Hammond here for advice & medicine. Frank Snowden came & spent afternoon but left before supper.

31 Clear & Cloudy SE Ther. MON. MARCH 16, 1885 Wea.

About home all day Mrs O Hardy here for advice & med: Remus Hill called & paid his daughter Mary's bill. Sophie & Fanny Peirce brought Alice over and left her here to go to the "Sociable" at "Harewood" this evening- After tea Charley, Dora Alice & Willie went (walked) over to "Harewood" home about 11 pm.
