37o Fog & Cloud . S.E. Ther. Fri. Jan. 16, 1885 Wea.

Cloudy & foggy all day almost equal to a "London fog". Willie drove the mare to the sulky to school. I drove "Charley" home to the phaeton to "Oak Grove," and prescribed for Kate Stabler again. Little Edwd. was so much better that he got up & was down stairs all day.

35o Clearing. High wind N.W. Ther. Sat. Jan. 17, 1885 Wea.

The wind commenced blowing about 10. o'clk last night and increased until at about 3 - a.m. it blew almost a "hurricane," & continued throughout the entire day After noon Harriet Fitzhugh (colored) was here and had a tooth extracted. I drove "Fritz" to the buggy over to "Homewood", and prescribed for cousin Elma Paxson. Willie going with me. Fanny Stabler called to see Dora, & spent part of the afternoon. Edward is quite sick again and was in bed all day.

15. Clear & Cloudy. NW Ther. Sun. Jan. 18, 1885 Wea.

Cold this morning again & the ground hard frozen. I rode "Charley" horse over to "Homewood again to prescribe for cousin Elma Paxson who is very sick with "pneumonia". Charley walked over to Riverside after breakfast & Willie after dinner. Bukoffsky's little son died last night. Van Horn's people were here after me, but I was afraid to go so far in the cold Little Edward still in bed, but seems better.

16. Clear & Cloudy Ther. Mon. 19, 1885 Wea.

Still cold. I drove over to Homewood to see cousin Elma Paxson called at Ashton. got stove pipe fixed for our stove. Charley exchanged his "Charley" horse (for a large black horse) with Jno Abel I sent John to Lucas' to see about wood. Dora went to "Harewood" to spend the night with Fanny Stabler. Ernest went with her & Charley went also, after supper. expecting to have a game of whist. Ernest & Charley came in about 10-30 pm.

18. Clear & Cloudy. W Ther. Tues. Jan. 20, 1885 Wea.

Sprigg's children here for advice & medicine for infant. I drove & walked together over to Homewood & from there to Jno Henry Wilson's the roads being so rough that I walked from the toll gate got home at 3.30 pm Farmer's Convention met at the Lyceum. I walked over to see Dr Hardy after the convention adjorned. Little Edwd came down stairs.

20. Cloudy. N.W. Ther. Wed. Jan. 21, 1885 Wea.

Singleton Mitchell here for me to go to see Josiah Bowen. I rode the roan mare over to "Homewood" & met Dr. WH Hardy in consultation in cousin Elma Paxson's case. Afternoon I rode down to see "Sing " Bellows's wife, & from there to Homewood again. the wind commenced blowing quite hard, & continued though the evening. Nelly & little Fanny called here.

7. Clear NW Ther. Thurs. Jan. 22, 1885 Wea.

Very cold & the wind blowing. I rode the roan mare down to Jno Henry Wilson's, and to "Homewood" Cousin Elma Paxson is slightly better in sense of her symptoms, but still a very sick woman Willie walked to school & I sent for him. John driving "Jumbo" to the phaeton After supper Charley took Dora to Scott's to a reception. Walter having married a Miss Christ of Balto. and brought her home to day.

7o Cloudy N. W. Ther. Fri. Jan. 23, 1885 Wea.

Still cold & the roads wretchedly rough off the turnpikes. I rode the roan mare over to Homewood & met Dr Hardy again, cousin Elma Paxson is much better today Afternoon I rode over & prescribed for Josias Bowen. Charley & Dora got home from Scott's reception about 11.o'clk last night. Willie walked to school again to day, & back again. Commenced snowing about dark, & continued until bed time.

20o Snow & Sleet N.E. Ther. Sat. Jan. 24th, 1885 Wea.

Extremely disagreeable day. I drove the "big horse " "Fox" to Jas. Hallowell's & prescribed for Kate Stabler again came home and taking the roan mare, rode over to "Homewood " & back before eating my dinner. Afternoon I sent Willie & John with the "Fox" horse & spring wagon for some wood on Arthur Stabler's place. Jno Lucas brought us a load of green oak wood first before dark.

33. Cloudy & Foggy. SE Ther. Sun. Jan. 25, 1885 Wea.

Bro Richd called, on his way to "meeting." I rode the roan mare to "Homewood" & called to see Josias Bowen on way home. After dinner Charley rode the mare to Riverside & Willie took his sister to church at "Brighton" driving the "big horse" to the phaeton.
