32o Clear & Cloudy. S.E. Ther. Fri. March 27, 1885 Wea.

I drove to Ashton and prescribed again for "Lilly" Stabler & afternoon walked up to the village & prescribed again for "Krozen" Michael Thompson brought us a load of coal from Laurel. I extracted a tooth for "John". Willie still improving. Fanny came down stairs for the first time since she was taken sick.

45 Cloudy N.E. Ther. SAT. MARCH 28, 1885 Wea.

Clear & pleasant until afternoon when it clouded up & rained continuously until bed time. I drove down to see "Lilly" Stabler again before dinner. Albert Chandlee called for his father's bill. I walked up to the village to see Henry Krozen again. Willie mended up the old "Martin" guitar. I put a spring in the back passage door latch.

28o Snow. N.W. Ther. Sun. March 29th, 1885. Wea.

Hail Rain & Snow until near daylight when it cleared off and the wind blew strong from the N.W. making it very cold, and the change very sudden and hard to bear. After breakfast Charley rode " Kitty" to Ashton & Riverside to see about a "bicycle" he has on trial through E R Stabler & Co. Towards sundown I rode "Fritz" down to Ashton to see Lilly Stabler who is much improved since yesterday. Charley brought the "machine" home having decided not to keep it, as it is too light for our roads.

32° Clearing N W Ther. MON. MARCH 30th, 1885 Wea.

I was quite unwell last night was taken with vomiting and feel miserable this morning having a sore throat & sore jaws" it is possible I may be taking the "mumps" as I have no recollection of having had the disaese. Lizzie Scott called for advice & medicine. Albert Chandlee also called and paid his father's bill. P. T. Stabler's team hauled us a load 1 1/4 cords of rough oak wood. After tea Charley was to go to Ellicott's "Brooke Meadows" to a "Sociable" but not feeling well & Dora not being able to go with him, he very sensibly gave it up. the roads off the turn pike are wretched.

38o Cloudy (Windy) Variable Ther. Tues. March 31st, 1885. Wea.

Charley sent the "Shadow" bicycle to Laurel by Ede Gilpin to be expressed to Baltimore returned as "too light" for our country roads. Willie drove to school lin the buggy first time since he was taken sick with "mumps" & "Roseola". Charley is not at all well looking badly about the eyes, & with sore throat &c. Jas Marlow's child died this morning. Eliza Green here again for advice & medicine. Two "Gipsy's" young women called about 1.o'clk p.m. Reichenbach piano tunes from Washington tuned our piano, & I sent him to Olney Jno: taking him in the phaeton with "Fox". After supper the young folks all went to an "Exhibition" &c. at the Lyceum.

40° Cloudy & Clearing W Ther. WED. APRIL 1st, 1885 Wea.

More spring lke than any day we have had. Charley's eyes were so painful and inflamed that he did not go to the store. After about noon but before dinner I drove down to Ashton to see Emily Bellows and "Gus" Stabler. both of whom are as well as I am. Mr Dorsey (from the mill) sent a boy (his brother in law) to me for advice & med. After dinner Sister Beulah came, spent the afternoon & took tea with us.

45. Cloudy. E. Ther. THURS. APRIL 2d, 1885 Wea.

Charley went to the store again his eyes seeming better again. A niece of John's wife here & had a tooth extracted, early in the morning. Afternoon Dr. Dwyer (dentist) called and took an impression of my mouth for another upper set of teeth. Sarah Stabler called to see Harriet & Dora. Hannah Chandlee also called in the morning to see me about Geo. Nye's "sore throat".

49° Cloudy S. E. Ther. FRI. APRIL 3d, 1885 Wea.

I drove over to see Josias Bowen. Singleton Mitchell coming after me. Fanny Dickinson came in the stage. I sent her to "Fulford" Willie taking her in the phaeton with "Fox." Afternoon Willie took "Nelly" & the children over to "Riverside" with roan mare in C's buggy. I sent John with her trunk &c. with "Fox" to the sping wagon. Fixed the back around ice house Bought a barn shovel to use in handling "saw dust" &c.

35 Cloudy N.W. Ther. SAT. APRIL 4th. 1885 Wea.

Rained last night, & was very "blustring" & stormy all night. I slept scarsely any and feel quite unwell today. my heart troubling me more than for a long time past. Afternoon Eliza Green here again with her "sore throat" but "much better", Michael Thompson brought another "Bicycle" from Laurel for Charley to try from "Clarkes" in Balto: W drove roan mare to 'Riverside. High wind all day & much colder.

33° Clear & Clouding S.W. Ther. SUN. APRIL, 1885 Wea.

Much cooler this morning, ground slightly frozen. Edwd Chalfont came to help Charley in his riding his new "bicycle", and with his assistance C succeeded very well. E.C. dined here & afternoon they went to a smooth place in the turnpike beyond Saul Thomas' and C managed to ride alone to some extent. Towards evening C took his sister & drove over to "Riverside" in his buggy with the roan mare. Harriet & Dora walked to Fulford to call upon Fanny Dickinson leaving little Edwd and myself alone to "keep house" they returned about 5.30 p.m.
