Dearest Mother ---

I have not written you for some time because I have not known where to write.

I suppose you will be home when this letter gets there.

I went down to Wilmington last weekend to a dinner and dance at Mary Mawels, she is coming out this winter; I spent the weekend with Libby Holladay

and had a wonderful time. Sat night at the [theater?] saw Dr and Mrs Rumford and Lewis. Mrs. said that you and Nancy had called when she was out some time last week.

I am sure about the purchase of the coat as yet because a man has paid 10 down on it. I will know however by Wednesday or Thursday. I am not going up to the Havard game because I have not enough money. [?] will probably be down here any

way with the Freshman teams so I shall have just as good a time here. I may go to N.Y. after the game with him to see Uncle Fred.

Libby Holladay's coming out party is on the 21st of December. I am going to go up to it if it takes my last penny. It is going to be a knock-out at the [Duport?] and is going to last all night. The music at the one Friday night was the most [peppy?] I have ever heard. Meyer Davis from

Washington was the orchestra. I am still playing on the Freshman soccer teams and today we beat the second Varsity team 1-0 and we did that after we had been [?] about an hour. I think we will have a very good team. If we don't lose a game we get straight numerals on sweaters. I am not getting that M sweater until I see whether I get a 1924 one or not.
