My precious child,
I went to the "Association"
at Miss Alice Tyson's, it was lovely, people
lovely and cordial and so sorry to hear
about [you]. Miss Rebecca Miller sent you
a funny message, her "love, and didn't think
you would do such a thing." Every body was
lovely and so sympathetic. Tyson Marshall's
wife was there, have you ever seen her? She
is so old and wrinkled looking, no children.
George and his wife have a child. I read a
piece and every body thought it interesting.
Miss Mary Magruder never was nicer.
After the "Association" Julia took us to Mary
Hopkins' Tea House, she lives in the Tyson
house her mother left her. You remember
Mary & her mother used to come to father's
office. It is a perfectly fascinating house
with the loveliest things in it. She wants
to meet you again, and I hope we can
