My precious child, I went to the "Association" at Miss Alice Tyson's, it was lovely, people lovely and cordial and so sorry to hear about [you]. Miss Rebecca Miller sent you a funny message, her "love, and didn't think you would do such a thing." Every body was lovely and so sympathetic. Tyson Marshall's wife was there, have you ever seen her? She is so old and wrinkled looking, no children. George and his wife have a child. I read a piece and every body thought it interesting. Miss Mary Magruder never was nicer. After the "Association" Julia took us to Mary Hopkins' Tea House, she lives in the Tyson house her mother left her. You remember Mary & her mother used to come to father's office. It is a perfectly fascinating house with the loveliest things in it. She wants to meet you again, and I hope we can

go there some time. I hope your doctor is not one of the quick kind. You ought not to drive your car for a long time, and not lift anything and be very very careful for a long time. I would love to know something about your operation, which is natural you know, for you are all I have. Your letter was nice and long, I hope it wasn't too much for you to write.
Helen [Moore] asked me if I had any way to go, and I had made arrangements with Julia.
Please tell me how you are. I am anxious all the time and can't think of anything else. God bless you and keep you safe, and make you well.
