My dear Isaac

Thy letter came yesterday
In the first place I want to tell
thee what Henry said about Charley.
I asked him to write to thee, but he
pleaded want of time & and thought
I could do it. The Professors at
H. are entitled to the privilege
of one student. they have offered it
to him— as he has no son to give it
to, he chooses Charley. there will
be something to pay which I think
can be had here. This puts Charley on
an equality with any other student and
thus save his feelings. he and you can
have the subject under consideration
until near the autumn session,
there is no need to decide it now.
