The Wednesday CLub met on February 19th, 1941 at the
Community House with Miss Mary Magruder as hostess.
The program on South America was presented by Mrs. Clark,
who discussed education in the various countries and Mrs.
Powell, who told something of their art and music.
In the absence of the president, the vice-president
Mrs. Farquhar called the business meeting to order.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
The treasurer's report showed a balance of $65
Mrs. Bussler, membership chairman, reported that as Mrs.
Shillinger's resignation had been accepted at the last
meeting, Mrs. Pries whose name was first on the waiting list
should be voted upon. A ballot was taken and Mrs. Pries
was unanimously elected.
Mrs. Lamar, education committee chairman, reported a
basket ball tournament at Sherwood on Feb. 28th and Mar. 1st.
She also told us that Miss Appelby, a Sherwood teacher, had
recently been sent to the New York Vocational Guidance convention
as a representative of work done in small rural high
schools.
Miss Lilly Stabler told us that if we wanted federation
pins at bargain prices we must put in our orders before the
Atlantic City convention. She also told us that she had sent
the remaining Time contest leaflets to Sherwood.
Mrs. Farquhar brought up the question of the symphony
drive. It was moved and seconded that we contribute $10, the
