COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE
Nov 20/82 be it remembered thaton this the 20th day of November
1882, the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council
Chamber pursuant to adjournment.
The following Officers are present to wit:
Councilmen John Collins, O F Cosper, Fred Gasch, Charles
McDonald
, G L Manning & U M Rasin.
By reason of the absence from the City His Honor the Mayor
Councilman John Collins is elected to the position of acting
Mayor to serve during such absence.
Thereupon the following proceedings are had:
And now the Council proceeds to open & consider the bids
received pursuant to notice for certain Improvements on
Jackson Street under Ordinance No325. Which read as follows:

Earthwork per cu yd 22 cents Sidewalks & lumber work

Earthwork per cu yd 24&1/2 cents Cribbing & Sidewalks per M[thousand]

And now it appearingtothe Council that the bid of John
Ward
is the lowest responsible & best bid & that he is the lowest
responsible bidder it is ordered that the Contract be awarded
to him upon his giving a bond with good & sufficent surety in the same
