JOURNAL OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE
July 7 '82 A petition is received from Jas N. Smith praying for
the amendment of the ordinance relating to theater licenses. Said
petition is granted and the ordinance committee instructed to
submit a suitable ordinance.
Ordered that a quarterly theater license be granted
to J. N. Smith on payment of $50.50 the amounts already
paid by him for licenses for the Bijou Theater to be applied as
part payment for said quarterly license.
The Street Commissioner, Harbor Master, Fire Warden and
City Attorney submit their reports for the month of June
which are received and ordered to be placed on file.
And now the City Treasurer submits his regular semi-
annual report which is referred to the Finance Committee.
The City Justice submits his report for the month of
June and said report is thereupon referred to the Finance
Committee
The Mayor submits his regular annual report of
the receipts and disbursements of the City. Said report
is received, read and ordered published.
The Health Officer submits a report for the
year ending June 30th 1882; said report is accepted; read
and ordered published.
The Street Committee return the petition of B.F. Day for
the removal of a fence from the street, with this report thereon.
Ordered that said petition be laid on the table
The Street Committee submit their report on the petition of
A.A. Bell et al for the changing of the roadway in Block 42 and 42;
Thereupon said petition is granted
A petition is received from Huhlfelder and others,
praying for the placing of a gas lamp at the corner
of Columbia and Third Streets; said petition is granted.
A communication is received from H. B. Runnels and
Mrs Kate Regan notifying the Common Council that they
have appointed J.E. Houghton as appraiser on behalf of
the property condemned along the extension of Madison Street.
