To the Mayor & Board of Fire Commissioners

Gentlemen, enclosed to papers received from Captain
McAlleys of the fire boat Snoqualmie upon this
the suspension of P. Connolly which action
has been approved pending an investigation by
your honorable board.
The circumstances connected with this matter are
such that I desire an invesitigation necessary.
Chemical Engine Co No3 was disbanded on the
23rd and Engine CoNo 6 organized as per your
instructions with R.A. Miller Captain and
Geo H Wallace Lieut.
The new Waterous engine was placed with engine Co
No 3 on the above date and at a fire on the 26th
failed to take suction for some time, an examination
of the pumps was made and the valves found to
be made of poor rubber and the leather on
the right hand pump worn completely off.
New leathers were put on and a temporary set of
valves put in and a test made to-day
