To His Hon The Mayor and the Common
Council of the City of Seattle

Gentlemen:

Your petitioners would
respectfully represent, that it is necessary
that a box drain be constructed on the
East Side of Fifth Street between
James and Cherry Streets to cary
off the Sewerage and filth from
the adjoining property to the
Sewer on James Street, that it
is impossible with the present
Sewerage accomodations furnished
by the City, to keep Fifth St,
and property abutting them as in
a healthy condition without the
construction of the Box drain
as aforesaid from James to Cherry
Streets.
