Remonstrance
To the Mayor and Common
Council of the City of Seattle
We the undersigned property holders
on third Street ask your honorable
body not to extend the fire limits
as proposed by a very few of the
larger property holders in the burned
District if our people who have
been burned out Cannot have the
priveledged of building wooden
buildings on 3rd St they will most
certainly have to leave the City
as they are not able to build brick
and can not do business in tents
in the coming winter. are all two
years Hence will do to extend the fire
limits over most is give poor people
a shove and your petitioners will
ever pray
