Columbia City Wash Aug 1st 1898
The Town Council of the Town of Columbia
met in regular session at 8:20 PM
Mayor Reeves presiding. Roll Call
answered by Cameron, Hepler
and Lawrence
Minutes of last regular meeting read
and approved.
Report of the Marshal for the month
of July read and accepted.
Street Committee was authorized to
spend $50 for street and road repairs
within the City limits.
In behalf og the Franchise Committee the
City Attorney read an ordinance drawn up
by Mr Osgood after some debate certain
sections were altered slightly to meet the
approval of the Council. The ordinance
was then referred to confer with Mr Osgood
and to meet with the Town Council
again at a regular adjourned session to
be held Monday evening, August 15th
City Attorney was instructed to draw up
an ordinance covering the protection of
property in the city limits from wanton
destruction.
Water committe was instructed to raise
the water line of City reservoir 1&1/2 feet
for an additional water supply.
Mr C R Hepler was appointed a comittee
of one to look into the matter of providing
a city pound and report at next regular
adjourned meeting.
Then by regular motion Council adjournd.
