Will & Mabel came to see us off - Got into a carriage with the
Monther's - Edie & Mrs. Brand. It was very comfortable till we got
to Gympie - then such a crowd poured in - some going to Cooran
to a picnic - I got sick & sicker as we drew near our end
no more lavatory carriages for me. Boyne was at the
station to meet us - sent Ma up in a cab - we walked it -
A. was 'off it' a bit - Felt very tired & squeamish.

home for Xmas - is going next Monday - wants me to come over to
his cousin's to tea next Friday - don't like the idea of going amongst
strangers - however - promised I would - Mrs. Allanby called this afternoon
she does look well - we have to go over there tomorrow -
29th. Thursday. Went down this morning to Dr. G's - he examined
my throat well - poked a steel thing down till I thought I 'd choke
then said there was nothing whatever wrong with my throat -
it was the same as other folks - but that the left side of my
nose had an irritant substance in it which myst be removed
it might be the cause of some of the asthma - he wanted to do
it at once but I felt as I'd had enough - have to come
Saturday - & get one side done - he's very nice - wrote down all the facts
of my case in a book - Went over to Allanby's & spent the evening -
30th. Friday. Down town this morning. Went over on the South
Side train this afternoon as far as the terminus - Logan Road
then got on the New Farm one & went as far as we could go
on that - saw Stevenson's place - very pretty down there - I got out
at Boundary St. - I went on to meet Herbert - May & Ivy came
with me just to the place - He did my teeth - cleaned them & examined
them - says my front one needs filling - made them elegantly
white - we then caught a train & went over to his place -
stayed there till about 9.30 - & reached home at 1/4-10 - think
I must have grown fastidious - good fault I suppose - my[underlined] house
will be or ought be particularly nice - they seem very kind people
the young Mrs. W. is very nice-looking - the younger sister is Amy W. is a
superlative force - saw Amy's photo - she never sent me one yet -
H. has improved greatly in these two years - I can see a great change in him
glad too - Wants me to go to the Gardens with him Sunday but Ma says "No"
31st. Saturday. Last day of old year - Went to Dr. G. It was horrid - hurt too
tho' I didn't say so - I sneezed dreadfully every time he put in the hot wire - disgusted
him I think - Felt quite sick all day after -
[along edge] What a strange year this has been - Que je pourait tout oublier -
