3rd. Wednesday. Monday & yesterday dreadfully hot but last night such a
change took place - cold ~ left my windows open last night too - hope no
harm done - Dr. W. came over to see me yesterday but Mrs. G. didn't [..]
[...] ~ came in this morning. Wrote to Ma asking her to send me eggs & lemons.
4th. Thursday. Cough bothering me a bit today - but nothing worse -
5th. Friday. Dear little Mummy sent me eggs on her own account last night
& tonight the lemons - & loving letters therewith ~ God bless my dear
little Mother - there is noone does for me what she does - I hope I shall be able
to repay her fully what she has done for me - Mrs. W. sent word by Katie that
if I'd like to go to town tomorrow W. was going to drive her down ~ glad of
the chance - Mrs. G. doctored me this morning with salad oil ~ inwardly - & a
rubbing of turpentine ~ cough tormented me so - after that I didn't cough
all day - everybody went to Social at Kolan - I alone - except Lizzie -
Wrote to Edie - Mrs. Gillies & Tom coming tomorrow night - Feel very tired to night
6th. Saturday. Started early this morning ~ got up early to give the boys their
lesson but noone came except Earnest just at breakfast time - of course I
had scarcely any breakfast - May never told them - Coughed all way
down ~ cold airs suppose & no breakfast - Got into town at 1/2-9 - arranged at
Nott's where to meet - at the station - W. going on to Maryboro ~ Walker
home ~ gave little Mother shock - Janet & children went to Gladstone last
night ~ Mrs. Mann & Willie P. were going up so they took the chance of going
with her - nice quiet day - just like old times - left about 5 for the station
had to wait there bit - train late - started off home at 1/2-6. A.W. his
brother from Brisbane - Annie Alten Teatie & I - Mrs. W. went up by train with
Mr. Gillies & another gentleman - F - didn't come - coming next week -
got home at 9 - tired but felt no worse - didn't cough - Felt bit queer at -

7th. Sunday. Home all day - coughed too much to get to church - went for
stroll down river bank this afternoon - feel not much strength yet
8th. Monday. School as per usual - not going holidays tomorrow
9th. Tuesday. Prince of Wales birthday. School this morning - girls
wanted this afternoon for holiday so of course I was agreable -
10th. Wednesday. Feel very lazy - holidays be they ever so short don't agree
with me. Mrs. G. made me some linseed stuff today - jugful - she is very kindly
Wildes packing today ~ here for tea & the night - j'avais peur qu'il qu'il

11th. Thursday. Mr. Ellison here for service tonight - little Mammy asked
through the telephone yesterday if I was well so wrote away - she sent me box of
oranges too bought - dear little soul whoever would think of me as she does. Pouait me souhartes au revoir ce [...] a l'école.
12th. Friday. Lazy all week. Katie went down with Mrs. W. yesterday-.
until Saturday. May away too today so small school -
13th. Saturday. Got quite disappointment ~ they thought Tom G. would be coming
tonight but he didn't had quite made up my mind to go in for him -
tennis this afternoon - haven't played for over 2 months - feel more
like myself today than I've done for 3 months & more -well & happy -
Dave C. at home & buttermaking - Miss Boyne Preston - an older edition
Boys here for lessons this morning. I'm dying for the holidays to come -
Letter & parcel from Ma - says Will went up to Manns on Thursday. Wish
I'd known she'd be alone - I'd have gone down today - must go next Sat.
