married or unmarried, if you can live with dignity & do good to

this afternoon to play tennis - Mr. Power came from town too. Care less
for him every time I see him - I played not - made a bootee nearly : At night
there was corrobboree[sic] for the Kanakas over the hill so we all went. Il y

venait nous joiques. Je & W. anarchait tout seul tout le chemin - je pense
qu'il ne l'aimait par parce qu'il alla a la maison toute à bonne heure.
vraiment j'en suis bien aise. I feel as tho' I were doing right. Kate & Jeani home alone
5th. Sunday. Church morning. Anniversary (S.S) afternoon &
night. I went not in afternoon - Great crowd there at night.
Nice meeeting. Mr. Ellison up. This day year B. & I spent the afternoon together. Wonder if he remembers
6th. Monday. S. Mrs. Stirling junr. & Jean were over to night
7th. Tuesday. Mrs. Ellison, Mrs. Haines & Mr. E. & Mr. B. came this
afternoon. Lantern Views at night with song. Good many there
I hardly saw one - never more do I go to those things. Mrs. Bowes has
altered so - she's miserably thin - must have something wrong with her.
8th. Wednesday. Mr. E. & B. went back this morning - the ladies are
staying on. Not home till late this evening. They went up to Wilde's & I had to mind the kid
9th. Thursday. They went home with Mr. G. this afternoon so we are
alone once more - Mr. G. & Una Davidson came down tonight &
we had some fun - had Sam Shick & mesmerism or magnetism -
made each other do things - it was fun. Consequences too. Letter from H.
10th. Friday. Busy day - home late - all the thanks I got for minding
the youngster the other night instead of going to bed when I felt so
tired was that they Mrs. E & B. thought me very wicked because
I didn't offer to mind him - pooh - she ought to mind her own
kids - I'll not again - that's certain - will tell her some time too.
11th. Saturday. Lessons. Miss Stevenson & I went for a ride over the Falls
this afternoon - it was lovely.
12th. Sunday. Church morning. Miss S & I went for a walk & a read
down to the river bank then (she went to Mrs. W's & I to Wilde's. - he was
away but came home in time - Mr. Muller came there for tea too much to my surprise - Mrs. &
I went to church after.
13th. Monday. School - off this afternoon.
14th. Tuesday.
15th. Wednesday. M went to town to-day with Miss to a Ball & Miss S.
to Mrs. W's so I & W. were alone till to-night when she & the other boys went down too.
16th. Thursday. M. came back this afternoon. I & the kids had breakfast
17th. Friday. Feel my old enemy all this week - can't tell why - they are
thinking of going to Wabana to-morrow - the buggy will hold four - M. W.
Miss Norman, Mr. Power & Miss S. I suggested riding if I could get the
grey but Miss S informed me this afternoon that Aleck wanted him for
Monday to ride with me - don't know how I'll get on with the double journey.
16th. Saturday. Lessons this morning. & ready early & off at 2 sharp
buggy left @ 20 past - one got there at 10 to 5. few minutes before
them - not bad but I suffered - Pippie was horrid - they
