[centred] Ph
lovingly looking forward to other
reunions ... Yesterday 22 was the anni-
versary of father's birth, we used to
have family gatherings ... these are
remembered with very sad sighs
at the recollection of many pleasures
gone never to return.
My poor Charlie is on his [way] to Syd-
ney ... what he will do I am afraid to
think; this dreadful drink!!
When no eye pitties [pities] and no arm is
put forth to save May God who is rich
in Mercy rescue the souls by sin
so miserably debased. I know my love
and pity is heartfelt and sincere.
I cannot be harsh and unrelenting ...
I trust I never shall be.
The divinely inspired Wesley
went forth to preach the Gospel of
Christ "to harlots and publicans &
thieves" ... With cries entreaties tears
to save. To snatch them from the
gaping grave" ... Very unlike the sen-
timents I too often hear expression
given to.
"He who forgives most, shall be
most forgiven"
...................... From the depth of my
soul my cry is, Forgive, bless and
save my wickedly erring sons!
