[letter]

Police Office Maryborough

18th February 1851.

Sir

With reference to certain charges
brought against me by Mr Palmer
and Furber of Wide Bay, The Bench
have acquitted me on those charges

In the first place Mr Westmacott
and myself were lodging at Mr Palmers [sic]
House who is a Publican. we [sic] had
occasion to leave his house in con-
sequence of Mr Palmer bringing a female
another mans [sic] wife with whom he was
Cohabiting, as housekeeper and placing
her at the head of the Table for which
I said I would oppose the renewal
of his License [sic]. the [sic] next day he wrote
the said charges -

As regards Furbers [sic] charges they
are easily accounted for. Furber some
time before got bound to keep the
peace towards me, and I afterwards
had him committed to take his
Trial at the ensuing Circuit Court,
