Most respectfully Sheweth,
That your Memorialist
is a Carrier in the Wide Bay District and
owns a Dray and eight Bullocks
That about eight Months ago your
Memorialist borrowed Twelve Pounds St'g [Sterling] ... £12. 0. 0 ... from
the Clerk of Petty Sessions Maryborough
(Mr J. T. Jamison) giving him as collateral
security a Bill of sale (conditional) over
my Team ... your Memorialist has since paid
Five Pounds six Shillings St'g ... £5. 6. 0 ... on account leaving
due to him the sum of Six Pounds fourteen
Shillings ... £6. 14. 0 ... and interest
That your Memorialist
is now in prison for nonpayment of a Fine
That the Clerk of Petty sessions
assisted to apprehend Memorialist and is
now about to take advantage of my
confinement by taking my team although
I have tendered more than the amount of his
just claim.
That your Memorialist being
unable to help himself from his situation
humbly prays you will be pleased to
interfere to prevent Memorialists [sic] only means
of living viz his Dray and Bullocks being
made away with as Mr Jamison wishes
to appropriate them to his own use for
