Sir,
We the undersigned licensed Stockholders in the district of Gwyder beg respectfully to bring under the notice of His Excellency the Governor the great want of postal communicati[on] which exists in that part of the said district lying between Warialda and Weewa [sic: Weewaa], being a tract of country of about 110 miles in extent, and thickly covered with stations, the majority of which have been formed for more than ten years; from these circumstances we beg to submit to the consideration of His Excellency that this claim is a stronger one than that of other applicants for similar advantages, more

especially as the Assessment Return of the said district shows a considerable surplus over the expenditure.
As many of the stations are becoming almost useless to the occupants from the serious and systematic trespass of many parties, the only attainable remedy is the establishment of a Public Pound, the obstacle to which is the want of Postal communication to carry out the Provisions of the Act ~
We therefore venture to hope that his Excellency will be pleased to authorise the expenditure of a small sum to meet the expence [sic] of so necessary a requirement. ---
