In the absence of an
Office of Police we beg to inform
you that one of our Shepherds was
Speared in the thigh and otherwise
injured by a Black called "Billy"
on the 30th of last month.
We take this opportunity
respectfully to request that you
will bring the lawless state of this
District under the Notice of
Government in the hope that
steps may speedily be taken to
give the [...payers]of assessment
some protection for life and property.
