To the Honble The Colonial Secretary

Sir I have the honor to inform you that another outrage has been committed by the Blacks on my station, a shepherd has been murdered and his flock of Fourteen hundred sheep taken, which with great exertion I have been enabled to recover. This outrage would not in all probability have occurred had the Native

Police been in the district but the commandant has thought fit to withdraw them at the time their presence is of the greatest importance as during the winter months all the former depredations have been perpetrated.

I beg leave to call your attention to the necessity for a police force being permanently stationed in this district for the
