Sir,
In reference to my letter to
you of the 21st of August last I
have now the Honor to report
that in accordance with the
intention therein expressed I
on the 22nd ultimo proceeded to
Mondur taking with me Mr
Bannister the Chief Constable,
one of the ordinary Constables
attached to the Bench at Gayn-
-dah, and one of my own
Orderlies. There was some slight
delay from there being no
horses fit for duty attached
to the Police but I overcame this
by providing two horses of my
own and on the evening of the
23rd arrived at Mondur.
I informed Mr Mason the
Superintendent there that in
