Sir,
I have to request that you will the
pleased to license a Store on my premises
at South Brisbane as a Warehouse for
depositing Spirits, Tobacco, and other
Goods under Bond, subject to the
approval of His Excellency the Governor
according to the Act if Council 13th
Victoria No.9 entitled an Act to
constitute Moreton Bay a Warehousing
Port -
In making this application I beg
you will draw the attention of His Excel-
-lency the Governor to the fact that the
Great bulk of Goods, under Bond, for
the Port of Moreton Bay is brought by the
Hunter R. S. N. Company's Steamers to their
Wharf at South Brisbane & that the
greatest quantity is for consumption in
South Brisbane and Ipswich.
There is only one Licenced Bonded
Warehouse for the Port of Moreton Bay which
is situated on the North Bank of the River
Brisbane opposite Kangaroo Point at the
distance of nearly two miles from the
H.R.S.N. Companys Wharf at South Brisbane.
In consequence of there being
no Bonded Store in South Burisbane all Ipswich
&c have to be conveyed by water to the
