Sir,
I do myself the honor
to acknowledge the receipt
of your letters of the 15th.
February 50/83 and 8th. instant
50/144, the former enclosing
copy of the Queen's order in
Council, prescribing rules for
preserving order and securing
cleanliness and ventilation
on board Passenger Ships
proceeding from the United
Kingdom to any of the
British Colonies, and the
latter drawing my attention
to the publication of the
above mentioned order in
Council in the supplementary
Government Gazette of the
5th. instant; and to state
in reply, for His Excellency's
information, that I have
taken the necessary steps
to make the proper
