Sir,
In consequence of the
loss occasioned to the Turnkeys of
the Gaol by the high rate of discount
charged in Brisbane for cashing Cheques
I do myself the honor to request
that the Salaries of the Gaol
Establishment be forwarded to me
in Bank Notes, as the Salaries of
the Constabulary are paid, instead
of being paid to my Public account
in the Bank of Australasia.
