loss occasioned to the Turnkeys of
the Gaol by the high rate of discount
charged in Brisbane for cashing Cheques

that the Salaries of the Gaol
Establishment be forwarded to me
in Bank Notes, as the Salaries of
the Constabulary are paid, instead
of being paid to my Public account

I have the honor to be
Sir,
Your most obedient Servant
