Had this plantation been
under my charge, I would
long since have felt it
my duty to submit some
plan to His Excellency for
its better protection - as I
could not witness its all
but total destruction without
regret. I must al[sic: all] the Same
respectfully submit for
His Excellencys consideration,
the propriety of providing
the amount required for
fencing in this Ground from
some other fund than that
for "Repairs to Gates, and
Fences in the Domain", otherwise
I will be unable to complete
the works now in contemplation,
the expenses of which would
have to be defrayed out of
this Sum -
I have the honor to be
Sir
Your most obedient Sert.
