Sir,
In attention to your letter of the 23rd ultimo No. 50/191 wherein, with reference to my report of the 27th of December last No. 49./307, under Blank Cover, you transmitted to me an Extract from the Minute of the Executive Council No. 50./8. on the subject of a Quarantine Station at Moreton Bay and requested me to furnish a description of the ground recommended by the Council for the purpose in question: I have the honor to forward herewith the description required, and to state that it would have been forwarded earlier, but that a reference as ^ [added sideways] (to) the situation

Description of the ^ [added above] (proposed) Quarantine Ground
at Moreton Bay
The Northern portion of Stradbroke Island, bounded on the East and North by the Sea from a point due East of Mt. Hutton to Amity Point, at the South entrance to Moreton Bay; on the West by the Waters of Moreton Bay to a point about two miles South of "Canaipa" and due West of Mt. Hutton, and thence on the South by a line bearing due East to the Sea Coast aforesaid.
