Sir,
Having seen the letter addressed to His Honor the Chief Justice No. 32/243 relative to the cases of the prisoners named in the Margin I beg to acquaint you that the prisoners were tried before me, and that before they were called up for judgment I conferred with their Honors the other Judges and under all the circumstances they concurred with me in the propriety of the sentence awarded
It appeared at the trial that the prisoners were harbourers of Bushrangers, accessaries [sic] to a highway robbery, and guilty

Having reference therefore to the nature of their offence, I regret that I cannot receommend any mitigation of their Sentence
