Gentlemen

Agreeable to your request I beg to
inform you respecting the conduct of the two Men, runaways
from Moreton Bay whom I landed from the Lynx a few days ago.

Having had the misfortune to part from two Boats and Crews
whilst Whaling off the Coast of this Island, the Boats fell in
with the men in question when the Crew were in great distress for
want of Food and from being harrassed [sic] by the Natives; they received
the utmost kindness from the men who assisted them to procure
Food and I believe were great means of their preservation; As soon
as I fell in with the Boats the Men gave themselves up to me as
Runaways and behaved themselves with qreat propriety whilst
on board.

I am

Gentlemen

Your ob't Servant.

(Signed) Edw'd Bolger

Commanding Bark Lynx
