Sir With reference to your letter of the 15th Instant No. 31/534 transmitting me nominal lists of prisoners at the Settle-ments of Moreton Bay and Norfolk Island which are furnished half yearly, and requesting me to state whether there will be any objection to those Returns being furnished in future with merely the named[?] ships &[?] sentences of the Prisoners under transport-ation with a list at foot[?] of all others in the service of the Crown, I have the honor to

to inform you that I am not aware of any objection to the lists being made up in the manner proposed
I have directed Copies of the lists to be prepared for the use of this office & when they are transcrib-ed they will he returned to you. -
I take this opportunity of aquainting you that no returns of any des-cription have recently been received at this Office from Moreton Bay. -
The General monthly Re-turn of which I enclose a Blank form has not been furnished since January 1830 nor have I

I received any absentee Reports from that Settle-ment for some years altho within that period several Prisoners have been apprehended as Runaways
