Nance Darling,

This is going to be a one-page special to tide over till I'm in
the mood to write a decent letter.

After telling you in my last letter just how healthy a brat I felt, I had to get ill again. That was 4 days ago & I'm quite ready now to consider myself cured. I don't know what I had.

Seeing since it's your birthday on the 28th I'd better get in the mood & write a good letter tomorrow or as soon as I can. Soon as they let me out of hospital I'm going to take life very easy -- more so than ever.

Tons of love darling. Don't despair -- there's only 6-8 weeks to go before I show up.
