Chinese food tasted like; But those coolies in "The Dragon" & other Australian Chinese rest[a]urants are phoneys. The dishes were scrumptious. Being a pidgin English gabbler I made myself useful as an interpreter. None if any of us knew which to eat with what & when.

Moresby HQ? [illegible] has ordered me to vacate beautiful, enchanting Hanigilo. I'd put my whole personality into this lovely spot. I haven't any visitors' book but if I had it would be unique for the names written there. It has been the hub of Base's social clique; it's been a morale booster -- a place to rave over -- to so many the relaxation & peace & thrilling beauty has meant an escape from their (underlined word) unlovely environment.
