Some tantalising offers come my way. General Sturdevant would have let me
accompany him on his 5 day visit to Brisbane last week. He went by car to Southport & Toowoomba. For no obvious reason he had me as his guest again Thursday night along with a few Colonels & W.A.C. captains. I had so many different cocktails that when we went afterwards to a show I couldn't focus my eyes at all. I wasn't so bad as to show (word is underlined) my inebriated condition. Southport figured a lot in our conversation. I was keen to hear news of the place.
