I knew you'd be proud of every damned man that refused to escape the honour of fighting for you.
Agonising months went by with no word from you. My heart bled, for I too couldn't write. I began to rave badly each time I had a fever, othertimes I'd overcome the awful lonliness singing beside a camp fire.
The worst days came; the gap closed in & outnumbered us 300 to 1. Jim & Bill escaped death by inches & I had suicide tasks from Watson. I began braeking out in cold sweats desperately afraid I'd die without you knowing how passionately I sitll loved you. Hell was nothing compared to those months of mental & physical torture.
