Nancy Darling,

The post mark on your last letter was dated 27th Sept. You wer still waiting for mail. Darling I wrote on the 21st, so I hope to goodness it hasn't gone astray. This letter was addressed to Moresby & took longer in coming than usually. Perhaps tomorrow may bring glas tidings. I'll feel much less worried once I know my mail is reaching you. Truly Nancy I'm sorry things turned out this way. When after waiting so long without word of your safety - a whole week in agonies, & a week's grace besides, I knew I couldn't write more until I read one of those letters I yearned so much. True, I got a telegram telling me to phone you, but I was hungry for news, & encouraging words. Telegrams are soulless even if they're speedy. I confess I felt lonely still after I read it. It whetted my yearning only
