My Precious Husband,
This letter is going to be make believe, you will see why in a minute.
Alan darling, I received your anxiously awaited for letter to day (like fun), I am pleased to hear you are keeping the best of health and your eye is properly better. I have been wondering about your eye, wondering whether it would be giving you any trouble.
You received my wire on your birthday, (how lovely), I thought of you, & wished I could have congratulated you the way I wanted to. Now I am fair dinkum.
I have been released from the Air Corps so am a free agent now. One thing I like about being down here is I can save a bit. I am going to surprise you with my fabulous wealth when you come home.
