after that I shall proceed to Columbia
SC, to attend the meeting og the Bd. of
Trustees of the U. of the South, and also the
meeting of the Convention of the So. Dioceses
on the 16th, provided I have sufficient
means left to pay expenses. Otherwise I
shall go home & stay there, till I am driven
out by invasion and then I shall go
forth like Abraham, with less of his
faith I fear, to wander I know not
whither. Dr. Pise thinks that he will not
attend because of sickness in his family
and parish. Mr Jno. Baind whom I
appointed in Mr. Devereux's place,
declines attendance because of necessary
business engagements. Mr. Hines says
he will go. From the remainder I have
not heard.

I wish you would drop me
a line at Winchester Care of Rev. Mr. Morris
by Sunday the 7th proximo - I see how Dr Pise's
family are, & Mr. G. Polk's.

Miss White says you left a hand-
kerchief here which she will send along
with the crochet "Sacque" & also your shaving
brush. -

Yours affectionately

Jas H Otey
