Bishop Elliott, Savannah, Georgia, to Bishop Polk, re: reporting his safe arrival home; his meeting in Agusta an agent of the Seymour Land who had plans of a town laid out adjoining Sewanee and was offering lots at $100.oo each; that he (Bishop Elliott) persuaded him to withdraw from the market for his sake as well as for the aauniversity's; reporting that he found everyone much pleased with the idea of the projected University. 4 pp (1 mss. original and 1 typed copy)
