My dear Sir -

A few days since, on opening a box which had been placed in the care of a German friend some days before the fall of New Orleans, I found a map of the University grounds with the various roads, walks & plan of the buildings as made by Bishop Hopkins - the original was lost with the other papers, this was a copy made by Col Baring for my husband & has of course so much value in my eyes that I am unwilling to part with it - upon
